Christmas Route in Valencia 2025: Lights, Markets & Family Magic

The Christmas Route in Valencia

Christmas has arrived in Valencia, and the city transforms, as it does every December, into a landscape full of lights, magic, and festive spirit. Decorated streets, artisan markets, concerts, and traditions make this season a unique moment for families.

From Iluziona Museum, we’ve created a route designed to explore the most enchanting corners of the city during the holiday season. You can enjoy it any day, at your own pace, combining lights, culture, food, and special activities for all ages.

1. A grand beginning: Valencia City Hall Square

The City Hall Square is the perfect starting point for Valencia’s Christmas route. Every year, the iconic 25-meter Christmas tree is installed here, along with renewed façade lighting that in 2025 will feature an updated design.

The square also features two family favourites: the ice rink and the classic carousel, perfect for getting into the festive mood.

Every Saturday at 6:30 pm, pyromusical shows by Pirotecnia Valenciana will take place—short three-minute displays that mark the official welcome to Christmas.

2. Plaza de la Reina and its Christmas Market

The next stop is Plaza de la Reina, home to the traditional Christmas Craft Fair, open from November 29 to January 6. Over 30 wooden stalls offer ceramics, textiles, jewellery, and handmade gifts. A beautifully lit nativity scene adds a special touch.

3. Plaza de la Virgen: photo with the iconic Christmas tree

A few minutes away is Plaza de la Virgen, which every year features a stunning Christmas tree—ideal for family photos.

In 2025, the square will host the musical performance “The Enchanted Room” on December 23 and 29, and January 2 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, along with free musical and folklore performances throughout the season.

4. Central Market: a gastronomic stop

The route continues toward the Central Market, lively and festive during this season. Its nativity scene and Christmas stalls (December 10 to January 5) make it perfect for tasting local sweets and buying traditional products.

5. Mercado de Colón: markets, concerts and the Three Kings

Next is Mercado de Colón, offering a complete Christmas program between November 27 and January 5:

  • Belenistas Market: November 29 – December 8
  • Mostra de Nadal: December 17 – January 5
  • Concerts: December 26, December 30 and January 5 at 8:00 pm
  • Three Kings’ visit: January 2–5 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Along the way, don’t miss the walk-through bell sculpture at Plaza del Patriarca.

6. Walking up Colón Street: lights and shopping

Continue your route along Colón Street toward Iluziona Museum. The avenue shines with arches of light, decorated shop windows, and festive shopping vibes.

7. The perfect ending to your Christmas Route

To complete your experience, end the day at Iluziona Museum. Learn about Valencian culture, explore creative spaces, take unique photos and enjoy an immersive ride on Santa’s Sleigh.

An unforgettable way to close a day full of magic, culture and Christmas spirit.
