When is Carnival in 2026?
In 2026, Ash Wednesday falls on February 18, while Carnival Tuesday will be on February 17.
This places the main Carnival celebrations between Friday, February 13 and Sunday, February 15. In addition, students will have no school on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17, making it an ideal time for family plans with children.

Friday, February 13: Carnival in the Neighbourhoods
Carnival in Toledo starts one day earlier with Carnival in the Neighbourhoods, offering activities across different areas of the city.
Option 1: San Antón neighbourhood
- Location: Zoco Europa Shopping Centre
- Children’s workshops and inflatable castles at 5:00 pm
- Children’s shows at 7:00 pm
- Carnival dance from 9:00 pm to 11:30 pm
Option 2: Polígono neighbourhood
- Parade starting from Parque de la Luz at 6:30 pm
- Live orchestra and DJ at the end of the parade
Option 3
- Main parade at 7:00 pm from Plaza del Sagrario to the Civic Centre
- Children’s costume contest upon arrival
- Hot chocolate and DJ until 11:00 pm
Saturday, February 14: Grand Parade and LOS40 Music
Saturday is the highlight of Toledo Carnival. In 2026, the Grand Parade will start earlier at 4:00 pm and will feature more prizes and participants than ever.
At night, LOS40 Music will host a live music show featuring major hits, both classic and current, for hours of non-stop dancing.

Sunday, February 15: Wake and Burial of the Sardine
Sunday marks the end of Carnival celebrations with the traditional Burial of the Sardine, symbolising the beginning of Lent.
The wake will start at 5:30 pm in City Hall Square. One hour later, the parade will head to Barco del Pasaje, where fireworks will mark the official farewell to Toledo Carnival.
Carnival with children at Museo Iluziona
